Our Vision & Mission

Founded by American Pakistanis, FONEC (Friends of NEC) is the project to raise global awareness of epilepsy and to make a significant impact around the world in regards to epilepsy patients and the importance of facilities for them. The purpose of this website is to document and display our support from the US for the National Epilepsy Center of Pakistan. 

What Is Epilepsy? 

Epilepsy is a brain disorder, when people experience seizures and sometimes a loss of consciousness. Epilepsy can be treated through medications, drugs, and possibly surgery.

Epilepsy is a widespread neurological disorder that affects around 50 million people worldwide. It involves disruptions in the brain's electrical signals, which can alter physical and behavioral activities and impact consciousness, leading to seizures.
